Purpose: To balance and clean the chakras, to increase your ability to send and receive energy, and become more relaxed.
Outcome: You should be able to send and receive energy more easily, be more receptive to what's going around you, and feel more in tune with yourself.
First off, get yourself in a room, or secluded area where you will not be disturbed. If you are in a room, close any doors or windows if possible. Also, if you want to play a mellow sounding song (classical, easy-listening, something without or very little words is your best bet - heavy metal or loud music is not suggested), and burn a mellow, relaxing incent that is fine, and highly suggested as these will help you relax and get in-tune with yourself.
If you are outside, your best bet would be to in an area that you are most comfortable with, and somewhere away from other people.

You can do this by either sitting, standing, or laying down, but preferably standing.
Center & Focus
Close your eyes.
Now, clear your mind of all your thoughts, all your distractions, all your worries and let them go...let them drift away.
Relax some more. Relax your muscles. Relax the shoulders and neck area.
Now, do a connection with yourself. Put your hands in front of you, and push your energy from one hand to the next. (it does not matter if you push your energy from left to right or right to left - each person is different, and each group prefers it different for different things).
Push the energy from your hand to the other hand, up the arm, and down the next arm. Continue to do this until it is a steady flow that you are comfortable with.
When you are ready, form a blue sphere (ball) in your hands. Make it a strong, solid bright electric blue. Focus more on the ball, and make it stronger. Fill that ball with a white-greenish mist. Imagine that mist to be a cleansing healing energy.
Expand the ball all around you. Make it just big enough to extend about 3 feet or so from you. Give that blue lining on the ball more energy. Make it solid and strong. Put this to the back of your mind.
Chakra Meditation: Part I - Balancing yourself
Focus on your crown chakra. Focus, on the ball, or disk, or however you see your crown. It should be a bright white. Feed that chakra, take your time in doing this. There is no rush. Spin the chakra in the direction that your energy flows. (if you sent energy from left to right, spin the chakra clockwise, if you sent your energy right to left, spin it counter clockwise.) Spin the chakra until it gets to a speed that you are comfortable with. Make it run steady and smooth. Remember, your crown chakra is what connects you to your higher self, and to your divine connection. You want this strong. Spin it at a good speed. You will want all your chakras to be spinning at this speed at the end of this exercise. Now expand the energy of that chakra to the blue lining on the ball. Expanding the chakra like this cleans the chakra from any pollutants or negative energy that is connected with that chakra, and pushes it to the outside of the ball. Bring the energy of this chakra back. Make sure it is solid, and running fluidly. Put this chakra to the back of your mind.
Focus on your third-eye chakra. Focus, on the ball, or disk (it should be the same shape as the crown, but if it isn't that's ok). This chakra should be a nice solid purple. Feed this chakra. Make it healthy. Spin this chakra in the direction that your energy flows. This chakra aids with receptive telepathy, and visualization. You want this strong as well. Spin it at the same speed you are spinning your crown. Now expand the energy of that chakra to the blue lining on the ball...and then return it to normal. Put this chakra to the back of your mind.
Go down a little further, and focus on your throat chakra. Focus, on the ball, or disk. The throat should be blue in color. Feed this chakra, making it healthy. Spin this chakra in the same direction as the first two. This chakra aids in the projective telepathy and vocalizations (both on the physical level and the astral level). Spin this chakra at the same speed as you are spinning the other chakras. Expand the energy from this chakra to the blue lining of the ball, and then return it to normal. Put this chakra to the back of your mind.
Move your focus down to your next chakra. This chakra is your higher heart chakra. Focus on it. The higher heart should be green in color. Feed this chakra, make it healthy. Spin this chakra in the same direction as the others. This chakra aids in the receptive empathy. Spin this chakra at the same speed as the others. Expand the energy from this chakra to the blue lining of the ball, and then return it to normal. Put this chakra to the back of your mind.
Do the same thing to each chakra as you go down. The chakras are from top to bottom:

*Some people may only have one root chakra, or one heart chakra. Some people may also have 2 crown chakras, etc.
Chakra Meditation: Part II - Opening yourself up
After you have completed your last chakra, create a golden ball of energy just above your ego center. Make this ball solid. Extend a line from this ball down through your ego, to your sacral, and through your root chakras, extend this line till it reaches the core of the earth (or as far as you can get it). Draw the energy from the core of the earth up this line, and mix it with the energy that is already flowing in your body. Keep this connection open.
Extend another line from this golden ball up through your heart chakras, and through the throat, third-eye and crown, until it reaches the heavens, or sun, or whatever. Extend this as far as you can. Draw the energy that you find there down this line, and mix it with the energies that are already flowing within your body. Keep this connection open.
Put these connections to the back of your mind.
Keep everything that you've done in this exercise in the back of your mind. Once you feel centered, go and do whatever you want.
